Eastern Scotland

My definition of Eastern Scotland is everything eastwards of an arbitrary line roughly from Inverness down to Stirling.

The areas covered will include the counties of Moray, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Fife and part of Perth and Kinross; it will also include the cities of Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth and Stirling as well as the Cairngorms National Park. It’s not an exact specification, but I’m sure you get my drift.

The eastern half of Scotland tends to be flatter than the hillier western side of the country and with the exception of the Cairngorms, the countryside in general tends to reflect that: Of course, that doesn’t mean to say that the area lacks interest – far from it, and I hope that you’ll follow me on my wanderings to some of these places, such as the ancient Kingdom of Fife, the lovely Moray Firth and the wonderful woodlands of Perthshire.
