An Out of Season Snapshot of Lyon

While I’m getting engrossed in another post, I thought I would give you some more pics to take a look at. Lyon has been called the gastronomic capital of France and is the country’s second most populated urban area after Paris. It’s also the capital of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and is located where the Rivers Rhône and Saône converge. It also has enough historic places of interest to be included on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites.

Our visit to Lyon was over the New Year period of 2013, and so before I forget what we saw, I thought it was about time I sorted some of the pics out if nothing else. If I ever get the time, inclination, or both, I’ll try and write something about this city, which, I have to say, would probably be better seen at a warmer time of the year.
