Welcome to England
St. Pancras Station in London (see pic above) is the terminus for Eurostar in England, and thanks to Elton John who donated the piano, any member of the public can bang out a few notes on the old Joanna should they so wish.
One of those people is Brendan Kavanagh who has built up a staggering 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube, and the link below shows why. He often meets passengers who are passing through for an impromptu tinkle on the ivories, but on this occasion he is joined by ‘Josh’ from neighbouring Camden Town who he obviously knows.
Judging from the number of blue and yellow placards, the occasion is possibly the arrival of people escaping the war in Ukraine. Either way, those who are arriving will be met by Brendan and Josh. Now tell me if this doesn’t brighten up your day.
If it did, here they are again.

Ih yeah. I just loved this .
I always enjoy hearing the piano played when I walk through St Pancras, and it’s often a decent player making use of it, but I’ve never taken much notice. In future I’ll look more carefully to see if it’s Brendan!

What a star! Brendon and Josh show all newcomers the best of British character and eccentricity. Makes you proud to be British, doesn’t it? This put a big smile on my face, so thanks for that. Just what I needed. 😀

He’s a fabulous pianist, so I’m not surprised he’s gained such a huge following. All power to him. I’ll check him out on Youtube, and I can safely say he’s just got another new follower! 😀

Not my type of music if I’m honest Malc though the Batman bit did make me smile, and if it cheered people up and brightened their day that can only be a good thing 🙂

It would be easier to tell you what I don’t like, lol.
Likes – late 50s/early60s easy listening, most 60s/70s/80s ‘pop’ music (1970/71 produced a lot of my favourite songs) instrumentals including The Shadows and James Last Orchestra, love OMD, 90s club/rave/trance up to late 2000s.
Hates – most classical, opera (although I like the Gilbert & Sullivan comic operas) jazz, rock/heavy metal, punk, and most definitely rap 🙁
I was reading through some of your ‘bits & pieces’ last night and just had to re-read your ‘Front Line’ post to listen to the music clip – the Young Rascals ‘Groovin’ is one of my favourites and holds a few memories from years back 🙂
Well now I know 🙂 I have an eclectic taste in music too. I’m not an opera fan either and neither for that matter do I like punk and rap. Like evrything in life there are exceptions to the rule, but I’m certainly glad we agree on ‘Groovin’ by the Young Rascals 🙂
I forgot to add Simon & Garfunkel to the list of likes 🙂 We didn’t have a tv until I was 11 so I was brought up on music, my mum always had the radio on during the day so I grew up to like all kinds of stuff.
Where would the world be without music – and is there anybody who doesn’t like Simon and Garfunkle?
Here’s another one to add to the ‘likes’ list – Booker T & the MGs. I knew every drum beat in Time Is Tight and drove my mum mad drumming on the table with a knife and fork 🙂 🙂
Not forgetting the ‘Green Onions’ of course 🙂
