Thanks Francesc. As I said before they’re not the greatest quality because I scanned them from old prints and transparencies. It’s the memories that count though.

I believe (with all due lack of modesty or knowledge) I was the first the mention Santorini. Since that hunch paid off, maybe I should play the lottery…
Personally, I think you should award yourself a platinum star in that case Pat – and if you do manage to win the lottery don’t forget who made it all possible.
I’ve never visited Santorini: it must be gorgeous!!!
The first time I went there it most certainly was. They’ve built an airport since which means that it attracts a lot more visitors these days – but it’s still well worth going to.

Unfortunately most of the beautiful places around the world are becoming more and more populated by tourists, which is a bit saddening for those who keep a fabulous memory from a past visit

Ah Never been to that one.
It’s very different to most of the other Greek Islands Shey.
We always went to the very small off the map islands, one with a population of like maybe 500 people.
Wonderful! The Greek Islands are a different world aren’t they?
heya re indeed. You can have your big bustling ones if that’s your bag. You can find a quiet corner on them if that is too, or you can start working down the scale. They are just amazing and where there’s an island there’s always a taverna, it doesn’t matter how small and empty the island. I just love them.
Ah yes! Sun, ouzo and Greek dancing is a dangerous combination.
Or as a taverna owner we knew quite well, would say ‘in addition to ahving copious rows with his son about, Retsina, retsina, retsina.’
I wish you hadn’t reminded me about Retsina Shey!

LOL. Of course. Let’s just say that I brought some ouzo back home with me, but didn’t bother with the Retsina ☺️
That is so funny. The owner of that fabulous taverna which I think is now no more was very generous ….we used to have to quickly pour a lot of his freeebies into a plant. So sufficienct to say we had all the Greek drinks in our time. At least a mouthful. We were not so fond of the Ouzo but the Retsina we jgot to to love despite the owner’s son coming and giving us a freebie wine one time instead of that ‘ Sh*te.’ We often brought a bottle back, indeed the Mr once bought 6 bottles in a supermarket here as part of the Xmas day and hols booze buy, but alas on a cold December night it did not have quite the same taste . . . . .
The local drink abroad never tastes quite the same back home does it? ☺️
