Anybody driving north on the A9 trunk road from Scotland’s Central Belt to the Highlands will find themselves driving past Dunkeld, but, in my view, to drive past this small town on the banks of the River Tay between Perth and Pitlochry would be a mistake. Not only will it give you a break from driving along Scotland’s longest road, Dunkeld has a number interesting things to make your stop worthwhile – even at Autumn time.
